On April 19th, 2013 we were blessed with our precious baby boy, Chandler.  He came quickly and was ready to make his entrance in this world.  He was instantly loved by his Mother, Father, Big Sis Maci, and the rest of our family.  He had some very proud Grandparents and Aunts and Uncles anxiously awaiting his arrival as well.  He was absolutely perfect with peach fuzz hair, blue eyes like his Daddy, super long toes (we liked to call them his spider monkey toes), and the cutest little lips you can’t help but to kiss.  We were all instantly in love!

Chandler was the best baby one could ask for.  He was perfectly healthy.  He rarely cried and slept and ate very well.  He had very wise eyes that always made you wonder what he was thinking about.  He smiled early for a baby and his smile could light up a room.  No matter what kind of day you were having, he could give you one of his smiles and instantly melt your heart.  He also had a deep adorable laugh like his big sister.  Maci was two at the time Chandler became part of our family.  She was very hesitant at first.  In fact our first family picture in the hospital she was trying to escape from the picture and was laying over her Daddy’s shoulder.  That’s one picture and memory that we will always have.  It only took a few short days before she slowly fell in love with her Bubby as we did.  She liked to hold him and help feed him.  She had to know at all times where he was and what he was doing.  The feeling was mutual with Chandler, he always kept his eyes on his silly sister.  Even when she had her moments where she was a bit too rough with him, it never bothered him one bit.

Chandler was lucky to be part of an amazing family.  He has grandparents that could not get enough of him.  He got to spend lots of time being loved on by them in the short time he was here.  Those memories will forever be held with them as well.  He has Aunts, Uncles, cousins, and a good group of friends that also became very close with him and adored him.  He was truly a blessing to our family.

On September 15th, 2013 just four days short of 5 months old Chandler passed in his sleep.  There was nothing anyone could do.  It was the absolute worst day of our lives for my husband, daughter, family, and myself.  Our lives moving forward without him here are still a daily struggle.  He may have only had 5 short months on this earth but he touched so many hearts while he was here.  He lives on forever in our precious memories and in our hearts.  Chandler is just one of 2,500 babies in the US each year that’s life was too short.  We hope that spreading awareness and raising funds for research will one day prevent SIDS from ever touching another family.

All proceeds from this event will go directly to the Chandler Jude Moore Fund at the Madison County Community Foundation to support research as well as local children and families within our community.  Click link below for more info on the foundation.
